Narbonne · Belle ÉpoqueSarah Bernhardt — Charming Apartment in Narbonne
« Velvet and spotted mirrors keep watch while the divine one still sleeps »
A theatrical boudoir, far from the spotlights.
What if, between two triumphant stages, the divine diva had set her luggage and her heart on Narbonne and its light?
She would no doubt have ended up arranging an elegant retreat there, in the shadow of the spotlights, far from Parisian society. An intimate yet theatrical boudoir, refined and steeped in mystery, she would hasten back to in two steps, barely having set foot on the station platform.
We sought the right distance between homage and invention. Deep velvets, mercury mirrors left to age, English-green panelling: nothing ostentatious, everything understated. The divine does not perform here — she rests, prepares, reads, writes, awaits the next performance.
In the suite you will find a curated library (Hugo, Rostand, Sarah's correspondence), a vinyl turntable with a collection of operas and stage music, and — the detail that changes everything — a morning tea service, left silently at the door.
